Back in 2007 Watford Borough Council transfered it’s social housing assets and some community responsibilities to Watford Community Housing Trust forming a Gateway Community Model.
Broadly speaking a Gateway Community housing trust is run by the residents for the residents. This is ususally achieved via a Gateway Membership Team which regularly meets and recognises the residents to make informed choices regarding their homes and community.
Unfortunately, Watford Community Housing Trust has been running as a Gateway Community Model in name only and this has resulted in the residents coming together and forming their own panel of interested and concerned tenants.
